Sometimes, all that is needed is practical advice. At other times, financial help is also required. We aim to help as many people as possible, whatever their age, when making ends meet on a low income becomes too difficult.
Depending on individual circumstances, we offer grants towards the cost of household repairs, domestic appliances or specialist disability aids plus a regular weekly allowance of up to £20.
If living at home becomes difficult, we may also contribute up to £50 per week towards the cost of home nursing or help with fees for a residential or nursing care home.
Each of our beneficiaries has a dedicated caseworker and a trained volunteer visits at least once a year to ensure the right level of help is being offered. We listen to the concerns of the people and families we help and assess each request for assistance individually and in strict confidence.
The people we help with grants and allowances fall into two groups:
1. Complete the online enquiry form or download the enquiry PDF and return it to us. If you need any help, please feel free to call us on 020 7396 6700 during office hours. All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence.

2. If we think we may be able to help, we will send a more detailed application form asking for further information about finances, background and current circumstances.
3. Once we have all the information we need, we may arrange for one of our Authorised Visitors to come and see you. It's a good opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to ask any questions.
4. Each person's situation is reviewed carefully. Once a decision has been made, we will let you know as soon as we possibly can.
