Start your week with a charity abseil

Immediate Release: Monday 20 September 2010

Londoners are invited to join celebrity guests, including Gail Porter, to kick start their week with an adrenaline-filled charity abseil from the top of The Roof Gardens in Kensington. The 100ft challenge, will take place on one day only - Monday 20th September, 9am to 5pm - and will raise funds for Elizabeth Finn Care - a national charity that supports people living in poverty.

The Elizabeth Finn Care Charity Abseil, which is running for the second year, is open to local residents, businesses and any one else brave enough for the challenge. Participants will be able to enjoy the amazing roof-top views from the beautiful gardens before taking the plunge for charity with full help and support from the safety team.

The event will be opened at 9am by the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, Cllr James Husband. As well as the lovely Gail Porter, daring participants will be joined by top MTV and Kiss 100 presenters Rickie Haywood Williams and Melvin Odoom.

In order to take part, participants will be asked to pay a registration fee of just £25 and raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.

Jason Goddard, General Manager of The Roof Gardens, said: “Elizabeth Finn Care is a very important charity for the people of London and one that we are very happy to support. The Roof Gardens has panoramic views across London’s skyline so it’s the perfect backdrop for a memorable abseil experience! We would encourage everyone to come and enjoy the festivities and join some of our staff for the challenge.”
