Elizabeth Finn Care in Wales

Based at our office and Helpline centre at Nantgarw just outside Cardiff, I travel throughout Wales, promoting the work of Elizabeth Finn Care and making sure people in financial need know how we can help them.

Working with groups and organisations across Wales
I am always pleased to attend meetings, conferences and exhibitions to explain our role and ways in which we can help. I also deliver training for intermediaries on making the best use of the Turn2us services for advice workers and am always looking for new partnerships to maximise the financial inclusion opportunities from Turn2us for hard to reach groups.

Visiting grant applicants
I occasionally carry out visits to applicants and prepare reports for our Grants team, which gives me a greater understanding of the issues facing the people applying to us.

Volunteer recruitment and training
Our Volunteer Case Consultant role development is a particularly exciting project to recruit volunteers who will support new applicants who need that little bit more help, for example, with filling in forms, or by checking their benefits entitlement on Turn2us.

Visit our volunteer pages to find out more about this rewarding role and how you can get involved

Press and media
I handle press and media opportunities for EFC in Wales, and although I am not bi-lingual, we do have a Welsh speaker available for interviews and make every effort to make sure material is available in the Welsh language.

Income Generation
I look out for income generation ideas to help continue the work of the charity. This ranges from community fundraising opportunities to raise some money for local support; to  larger scale applications to  local Trusts or Funders with particular areas of interest that we may be able to help with.

Please visit our fundraising ideas page for more about how to help us
