107-year-old to take to the track at Brands Hatch
Immediate Release: 23 March 2009
Miss Dulcibella King-Hall, of Tunbridge Wells, in Kent, is to celebrate her 107th birthday 5 days early, on this Wednesday (25th March), with a ride around the racing circuit at Brands Hatch.
Miss King-Hall was born in Brankson in Devon on 28 March 1902. Her love of fast cars stems from her service in World War Two, where she was employed to test seconded vehicles that would later be used as ambulances. To fulfil this role, Dulcibella had one driving lesson: a day of touring London in a car owned by a friend of her father.
Now a resident of Halliwell Care Home in Tunbridge Wells, Miss King-Hall is well known for her love of fast driving, where she often encourages the Home’s mini-bus driver to “go a little faster, please”.
To indulge Dulcibella’s love of fast cars, Halliwell staff have organised the “ride of a lifetime” this Wednesday.
The ride will be taking place around lunchtime and it is hoped that the driver will get up to 100 mph. If not, it can be sure Dulcibella will be urging the driver to “go a little faster, please”.
